Richard DELRIEU
Richard Delrieu est né à Nice (France). Il est le petit-fils de l’éditeur de musique Alfred Delrieu et le fils de Lucien Delrieu, pianiste, compositeur et artiste peintre.
Initié au piano dès l’âge de six ans par son père – qui fut l’élève et l’ami du concertiste polonais Albert Tadlewski, le fils spirituel de Paderewski – il reçoit ensuite durant plusieurs années l’enseignement de Marthe Poulain, une autre disciple de Tadlewski. A 13 ans, Richard entre au Conservatoire de Nice dans la classe de Juliette Audibert-Lambert, où il rencontre son assistant Serge Mudry. Il travaille assidûment sous sa direction, tandis que naît avec celui-ci une solide amitié qui dure et s’approfondit depuis ce temps. Richard suit ensuite l’enseignement de Magda Brard — une des élèves préférées d’Alfred Cortot — puis de Pierre-Philippe Bauzin — disciple d’Ives Nat et d’Olivier Messiaen — pour le piano et l’harmonie, et du violoncelliste Frédéric Lodéon en musique de chambre.
Il remporte le 1er Prix de l’ORTF à 15 ans devant 25.000 concurrents, la Licence de Concert au Concours National de Musique et le Prix Roger-Ducasse.
Richard entre ensuite à l’Université de Nice et y obtient une maîtrise de Musique sur les rapports entre le fonctionnement du cerveau et la pratique de la musique, puis un DEA d’Anthropologie. Ces travaux le conduisent au Japon en 1990, pour y préparer un doctorat de musicologie comme boursier Monbusho du gouvernement japonais, puis comme boursier Lavoisier du gouvernement français. Il effectue sa recherche à la Tokyo Medical and Dental University, puis à l’Université de Kyoto. Il est ensuite professeur de 1995 à 2010 dans plusieurs universités japonaises à Kobé, Nagoya et Kyoto et poursuit une recherche sur les relations des notations musicales d’Orient et d’Occident avec les systèmes d’écriture du langage.
En plus de l’enseignement et de la recherche, Richard donne au Japon de nombreux concerts en solo, ou en compagnie de musiciens japonais, au cours desquels il fait connaître au public japonais et international l’œuvre de son père, le compositeur niçois Lucien Delrieu, dont il a enregistré en France l’œuvre pour piano seul, ainsi que l’œuvre pour violoncelle et piano avec le renommé violoncelliste français Philippe Muller.
Après 20 ans de séjour au Japon, Richard vit maintenant à Nice (France), d’où il continue ses activités de concertiste, d’enseignement et de recherche.

Richard DELRIEU
Richard DELRIEU was born in Nice (France). He is the grandson of the music publisher Alfred Delrieu, and the son of the pianist, composer and painter Lucien Delrieu.
Richard received at the age of six his first piano lessons from his father who was the pupil and the friend of the Polish concert artist Albert Tadlewski, the spiritual son of Paderewski. He continued his pianistic studies with Magda Brard, one of Alfred Cortot’s favourite pupil. Age fifteen he won the first prize at the Concours du Royaume de la Musique (the Musical Realm Competition) organised by the O.R.T.F. (The French National T.V. and radio network) which attracted 25.000 competitors. He then was awarded his concert degree at the National Music Competition and he received the Roger-Ducasse prize. Then, he studied piano and harmony with the pianist and composer Pierre-Philippe Bauzin – was a disciple of Yves Nat and Olivier Messiaen – and Chamber Music with the French cellist Frédéric Lodéon.
He enhanced his musical knowledge –theoretical as well as practical – at the University of Nice, where he achieved a Masters degree on the relationship between the operations of the brain and musical practice, then a Masters in anthropology.
These studies took him to Japan in 1990, successively as a bursar of the Japanese government and of the French government to begin a PhD in musicology. He then taught for 15 years at universities of Nagoya, Kobe and Kyoto, conducting research on the relationships between East and West writing systems and musical notations.
Alongside these activities, Richard is pursuing his work as a concert pianist. One of his primary goals is to promote, through his concerts and recordings, the work of his late father, native of Nice, Lucien Delrieu, performing in France and Japan numerous recitals, solo or with Japanese and French musicians in front of Japanese and international audiences. Recently, Richard recorded in France the piano and cello and piano works by Lucien Delrieu, with the famous French cellist Philippe Muller.
After 20 years in Japan, he is now living in Nice (France) from where he continues his performance activities, piano teaching and academic research.

作曲家兼ピアニストであったリュシアン・デルリューを父としてニース（フランス）に生まれる。父リュシアンは、パデレフスキの直系弟子であったポーランド人ピアニストのアルベルト・タドレフスキの生徒及び友人であり、リシャールはその父より６才でピアノの手ほどきを受ける。その後数年に渡り、同じくタドレフスキの弟子出会ったマルト・プーランより指導を受ける。１３歳にてニース音楽院（コンセルヴァトワール）のジュリエット・オディベール・ランベールのクラスに入り、その助手であったセルジュ・ミュドリに出会う。リシャールは後者の指導のもと勤勉に稽古に取り組む一方、二人の間には確固とした友情が育まれ、その絆は現在に至るまで深まり続ける。ピアノを巨匠アルフレッド・コルトーの直系弟子であったマグダ・ブラールに師事、またハーモニーとピアノを、イヴ・ナットとオリヴィエ・メシアンの弟子であったピアニスト兼作曲家であるピエール・フィリップ・ボーザンに師事。またチェリストのフレデリック・ロデオンからは室内楽を学ぶ。
１５才でフランス国営放送主催「音楽王国コンクール」にて、参加者二万五千名中第１位獲得。次いで「全国音楽コンクール」におけるコンサートピアニスト資格取得、ロジェ・デュカス賞受賞。
その後ニース大学院にて、脳の機能と音楽実践の関連をテーマに、音楽修士号、そして文化人類学高度研究免状（ＤＥＡ）を取得。これらの研究を基に、音楽学博士号取得を目的に日本文部省奨学留学生として１９９０年に来日、その後フランス政府ラヴォアジエ奨学生となる。東京医科歯科大学、次いで京都大学にて研究実践。１９９５年〜２０１０年の間に神戸・名古屋・京都の複数大学にて教鞭をとる傍ら、東洋と西洋の音楽における記譜法について研究する。
教鞭兼研究と平行し、ピアノソロまたは日本人音楽家との共演で数多くのコンサートを日本国内にて行う。これらのコンサートや、また著名高いフランス人チェリスト、フィリップ・ミュレールとの父リュシアンの作品の共演・録音を通して、日本人及び国際的聴衆へのリュシアン・デルリュ−の作品の紹介に精を注ぐ。
２０年に渡る日本生活を経て、現在ニース在住、演奏活動・ピアノ指導及び研究を行う。
